Southbay breaks ground on a new 65,000 sqm logistics park in Helsingborg

Southbay has officially broken ground for a new logistics park in Helsingborg. A strategic and long-term development project located near the city center. Southbay is investing in the construction and modernization of approximately 65,000 square meters of logistics facilities, ideally situated close to the port and well-connected to the city’s transport network.

The property is located at Landskronavägen 11, and the project will be carried out in three phases. The first phase includes John Bean Technology Marel’s new logistics and production facility, as well as its new head office. Completion and occupancy are planned for 2027. In the second phase, parts of the existing cold and frozen storage facilities will be renovated and upgraded to meet modern logistics and sustainability requirements. The premises can be adapted to tenant needs and offer fast occupancy opportunities. In the third phase, older building structures will be demolished and replaced with flexible warehouse and logistics spaces for one or several tenants, scheduled for completion in 2028.

The Chairman of the Municipal Executive Committee in Helsingborg welcomes the project and sees it as an important part of the city’s continued development.

“This project strengthens the city’s attractiveness and creates conditions for new jobs and an even more competitive business environment. It continues the transformation of an inner-city industrial area and marks an important step in Helsingborg’s ongoing development as a key logistics hub in Sweden,” says Christian Orsing, Chairman of the Municipal Executive Committee in Helsingborg.

JBT also welcomes the development and views the establishment as a significant step towards consolidating and streamlining operations while strengthening its market position.

“Bringing our operations together under one roof in a state-of-the-art facility tailored to our needs is an important step for us. The location in Helsingborg is significant both from a historical and strategic perspective and strengthens our long-term competitiveness,” says Anders Lassing, Senior Vice President & General Manager at JBT.

“The establishment in Helsingborg allows us to develop modern logistics space in one of the region’s most strategic locations. The combination of strong demand and limited land availability makes this project a natural next step in our expansion plan together with a long-term tenant,” says Felix Paljak, CIO and Partner at Southbay.
