Southbay and Logicenters have, through their joint venture, signed a 15-year lease with Blåkläder for the development of the company’s new central warehouse of approximately 41,142 sqm in Lockryd, reinforcing the location’s strategic importance for Blåkläder. Construction starts in the autumn of 2026, with completion during 2027.

Blåkläder is one of the Nordic region’s leading manufacturers of workwear and protective clothing. With the new facility, the company expands its warehousing operations in a modern building dimensioned for continued growth. The facility is being designed in close collaboration with the tenant and adapted to Blåkläder’s specific requirements for warehouse flows, capacity and future scalability.

The project is being built to the highest sustainability standards and will achieve BREEAM Excellent as well as energy class A. This includes high energy performance in the building envelope and installations, and a building prepared for the tenant’s own sustainability targets.

– A 15-year agreement with one of the strongest Nordic brands in its segment is precisely the type of project we formed this partnership for. Blåkläder has high and clearly defined requirements, and our strength is being able to move from dialogue to construction start quickly without compromising on technical standard, execution or sustainability, says Matthias Kettelhoit, head of the joint venture between Southbay and Logicenters.

– We have grown over many years and this is a natural step for us. We believe in building for the long term and investing in the capacity we need for the future. It is about continuing to ensure that our customers receive their products with the same high delivery reliability even as volumes increase, but also about creating stability throughout our value chain, says Anders Carlsson, CEO of Blåkläder.

– We have both been active in the region for more than 20 years and have contributed to the growth of this market, and together with Blåkläder we now have the opportunity to continue developing the logistics of the future here, say Erlendur Hilmarsson and Fredrik Nygren, responsible for the development at Southbay and Logicenters respectively.
